Money can be used to improve online fundraising efforts or use of social media

The government has launched a £1m “digital training fund” to help charities boost their technology skills.
The Digital Leadership Fund, which is available to charities across England, will be used to support the provision of free or heavily subsidised training. Courses will be available covering areas such as online fundraising and using social media.
Elsewhere the courses will address the question of how charities can use artificial intelligence and other new technologies to best effect, as well as ways to “modernise… operational delivery by embedding updated IT systems”.

Jeremy Wright, secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport, said: “We want charitable organisations to thrive in the digital age and are committed to helping them get the most out of technology, which can act as an enormous force for good. Through this programme, charity leaders will have more opportunities to enhance skills and boost employee confidence while creating a greater and more positive impact on people and their communities.”
Organisations that provide digital-skills training for charities can apply for funding. Applications are open until Friday 7 December.
