Department for International Trade offers £125k for digital and tech chief

Role comes with responsibility for managing 200 staff

The Department for International Trade is offering an annual salary of £125,000 in a bid to recruit a director of digital, data and technology. 

The tech chief will be asked to “shape and oversee the delivery of a programme of digital service development co-designed to meet business need, deploying Agile methodologies”. 

The post also comes with a remit to “set the direction for the management, governance and use of data to drive innovation and creativity in our service delivery”, as well as managing the use of technology internally by the department’s staff.

The successful applicant will head up a team of about 200 people, comprising a mix of both civil servants and contractors. 

The position, which will be based at DIT’s headquarters in central London, requires a candidate with “a proven track record of driving transformational innovation to business processes, services and systems for complex organisations through the effective use of digital, data and technology”.

Applications for the post are open until 9am on Monday 6 April. 

The new DDaT chief will replace Holly Ellis, who left the department late last year to take up a position at Amazon Web Services.
