IT firms invited to event
The Department for Work and Pensions is asking for supplier input to help inform its digital strategy.
The DWP is next month hosting a “supplier engagement” event at which senior managers of the department’s digital and commercial teams will meet with representatives from commercial firms.
The event, which is being held at the central London headquarters of industry body techUK, will kick off with a presentation designed to offer and overview of the work to date of DWP Digital, before moving on to run through the department’s “digital 2025 vision”.

The gathering, which takes on 25 March, will offer suppliers the chance to hear about DWP’s major “strategic themes” for the coming years, as well as asking questions and offering their thoughts.
The department said that it hopes the event will improve mutual understanding.
“We intend to use the session to openly discuss how DWP and industry can work together to improve the department’s future digital service and delivery,” it said. “The aim of the event will be to establish a structured approach to market engagement across DWP’s tech landscape and to encourage suppliers to share their views and offer suggestions in light of the strategic information provided. We will provide clarity regarding how suppliers should follow up in order to share thoughts and capabilities with the department.”
In the coming months, the department intends to hold a number of follow-up events that will be more focused on specific areas of digital strategy.
