Leicester City Council is seeking market feedback prior to undertaking a “transformation programme” that will see the authority revamp various underlying technology platforms.

The council is seeking to replace and “centralise” certain digital functions. This includes its platform for managing “various types of bookings”. It also wishes to replace its current e-learning tool, and implement “a management system to support this”.

Before issuing a contract notice, Leicester wishes to engage with potential suppliers to explore what options are available and how best to approach a procurement exercise.

“The council is at an early stage in development of its proposals but, prior to formulating any formal procurement opportunity, seeks input from the market as to what might be the most potentially attractive way of packaging and scoping a future procurement opportunity,” it said. “The council is interested in understanding the market, and whether vendors can supply all – [which is] our preferred option – or one of the components [and] modules we are looking to replace before commencing a formal tender process.”

The consultation will continue until 1 July. Suppliers wishing to take part are encouraged to visit this website or click here to find out more.
