MoJ offers £100k for leader of data and analysis

Department expresses desire to be ‘data driven’

The Ministry of Justice is offering a pay packet of £100,000 a year in its search for a director of data and analysis.

The chosen candidate will be at the head of a team of 300 analysts and a recently created data science team, and will also be required to work with colleagues in disciplines including operations, finance, commercial, and digital.

According to an information pack, the remit of the role will be to make the MoJ “a data-driven department in which every member of staff uses data and evidence to drive all of the decisions we make and to supply the tools which will make this possible”. This will involve working with “driving forward thinking on use of data analytics and technology”.

Applicants must possess experience of “leading a significant and complex analytical function in a large organisation”.

Applications for the London-based role are open until midnight on 31 July. After a shortlist is drawn up, assessments will take place around the second half of August, with interviews scheduled for the week of 3 September.
