Public Health England plans hiring spree to roll out ‘major programme’ of digital services

Agency has nine posts on offer at the moment, with more to follow in the coming weeks

Public Health England (PHE) is going on a hiring drive to build a high-grade design team to roll out a range of digital initiatives.

The organisation – which is an executive agency of the Department of Health – currently has nine posts on offer, including three product manager positions, and two of each of the following: delivery manager; senior user researcher; and senior interaction designer.

PHE said that it is growing the size of its digital team to help its mission to oversee “a major programme of innovative digital health services”.

“We are building a large in-house user-centred design team and expanding our project- and delivery-management functions,” it said. “They are all great jobs in a fascinating and high-profile environment. You will play a central role in digital transformation, helping shape the future of PHE’s digital delivery and support the drive to improve the nation’s health.”

In addition to the jobs currently up for grabs, PHE added that “we will be recruiting a variety of digital roles across over the next few months”.

PHE was created in 2013 when a large number of bodies were united in a single entity dedicated on improving the nation’s wellbeing and reducing health inequality. The organisation runs a number of campaigns promoting healthier lifestyles and supports local government and the NHS in providing health and social care services. It also has a strong focus on data, with many of its 5,500 staff being researchers.
