Local authorities’ use of digital technologies in adult social care is to be assessed as part of an inquiry by MPs.
The House of Commons Communities and Local Government Committee announced the inquiry on 7 June.
It aims to assess whether funding for adult social care is sufficient for local authorities to fulfil their statutory obligations.
As part of the inquiry, the committee will ask how innovative approaches to design and delivery of adult social care, including digital technologies, are used.
The MPs will also consider the progress made by local authorities to deliver integrated health and social care by 2020, the expected outcomes of this shift and how it will affect finances and funding.
The inquiry will also look at alternative funding models for financing and providing care and the relationship between local authorities and carers.
It is to consider all adult social care provided or commissioned by local authorities.
The deadline for written evidence is 19 August.
