Watch: NHS and industry experts discuss opportunities and challenges of AI

Written by PublicTechnology staff on 4 October 2019 in News

Webinar discussion – which is available to view for free – covers ethics, technical barriers, and key use cases of artificial intelligence

During PublicTechnology’s AI Week we have covered a lot of ground, encompassing a range of issues related to artificial intelligence and automation.

The features, interviews, and analysis pieces we have published over the course of the week have included a lookback at government’s history with AI, an exploration of the biggest questions facing the technology, and case studies of how two of government’s biggest departments – HM Revenue and Customs and the Department for Work and Pensions – have been among the early adopters of robotics and automation.

We have also delved into some of the major challenges facing the technology, including bias and regulation, but heard from the UK’s national institution for AI research – the Alan Turing Institute – how its experts are working with policymakers across Whitehall to help them get the most out of advanced analytics.

Our partners from UiPath have also revealed how their civil service customers prepared for embracing automation and, in this opinion piece, the company’s global public sector head Joel Cherkis discusses how AI and robotics can complement each other to deliver even greater benefits for government.

PublicTechnology and UiPath also co-hosted an exclusive webinar with NHS Shared Business Services, exploring all these issues and more. A brief clip of our discussion is included above, and the full 23-minute is available to download and view on demand, completely free of charge.

Click here to register to do so – a process which takes less than one minute.
