Taking place on 4 July in London, the PublicTechnology Cyber Security Conference will bring together security leaders from across the public sector to hear from their colleagues, and discuss their biggest challenges and top priorities.
As editor of PublicTechnology, I am delighted to be chairing this event, and am hugely looking forward to hearing from an array of brilliant speakers and, hopefully, meeting as many of our readers as possible.
The conference – which is completely free to attend, but is open only to public sector delegates – is now in its ninth year. Throughout that time, the importance and profile of cyber has grown exponentially.
It is now a ‘whole workforce issue’, according to our opening keynote speaker Amie Alekna from the Ministry of Justice, who will discuss with attendees the challenges of securing 80,000 employees, spanning from Whitehall policymakers to front-line prison officers and courts workers.
As well as the opportunity to network with over 100 peers from across the public sector, you will have the chance to hear from senior leaders from the likes of the National Crime Agency, Department for Work and Pensions, and the UK Cyber Security Council.
Speakers will share insights on major programmes including the GovAssure regime of departmental cyber audits and work to minimise the major risks of legacy tech. For the first time, we are also encouraging attendees to take part in moderated interactive sessions – held under Chatham House rules – which will allow delegates to openly share their experiences, best practice, and biggest frustrations.
The day closes with a discussion bringing together experts from law enforcement, defence, government and critical infrastructure to examine how the public sector would respond to a critical cyberattack – and whether it is ready to do so.
Included for all of those joining us at the event is a full day of complimentary – and award-winning – food, and a drinks reception at the end of the day: where I hope you will join me to share a glass of something chilled.
Please register today to ensure your receive your free pass for this valuable and entertaining day, as places are limited.
I look forward to seeing you there.
