Senior positions offer potential six-figure salaries
Companies House is recruiting for a brace of leaders to fill its two most senior digital and data roles.
The business registry is currently seeking applicants for the role of director of digital and technology, as well as the newly created position of chief data officer.
The two postholders will each earn up to £117,800, sit on the organisation’s board, and report into chief executive Louise Smyth. Both leaders will “review and enhance” existing strategies and implement the updated plans across the organisation over the coming years.
Core objectives for the digital and tech leader – who will manage six people directly, and sit at the head of a wider workforce of 220 employees – will include reducing technical debt and working to “attract, maintain and build a pipeline of talent and further expand the skills of our experienced and passionate digital and technology experts”.
Spearheading a team of 40 experts, the chief data officer will be expected to “move Companies House closer to being a leading data organisation, maximising the value of our data for the UK economy, and underpinning our strategy and direction with data”, according to the job advert.
This will include “responsibility for our strategic use of data to deliver our vision to be the most innovative, open, and trusted registry in the world, achieved through maximising the value of our register, combatting economic crime and inspiring trust and confidence”.
Both roles will be instrumental in delivering a three-year programme of digital and data projects supported by £63m of funding provided in last year’s spending review.
“We seek a successful individual who is able to support us in harnessing this investment to improve services for 3.7 m companies and 12 million individual users annually and overseeing exciting new services that support our widening legislative remit,” said the advert for the digital and technology director.
The successful candidates will be based at Companies House Cardiff headquarters, with options for hybrid-working arrangements.
