The West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust has signed a long-term deal for the provision of an electronic patient record system.
In December the trust awarded a £30m contract to US-based healthtech firm Cerner. The deal runs until 31 August 2030.
As well as the provision of a new EPR system, the contract also covers “associated implementation and hosting services”.
The deal was awarded via a framework for clinical IT systems run by QE Facilities, a subsidiary owned by Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust operates hospitals in three of the county’s largest towns and cities: St Albans; Watford; and Hemel Hempstead. It employs almost 5,000 people.
