London-based IT and consultancy firm Glue Reply nabs two-year contract

The Home Office has picked London-based tech firm Glue Reply to provide systems-integration services in support of an ongoing major project to replace legacy police data systems with an overarching national platform.
The Law Enforcement Data Service will bring together information from existing disparate databases such as the Police National Computer and Police National Database. The implementation of the new platform is intended to “transform the way the Home Office manages and supplies data services to law enforcement communities and other authorised agencies throughout the UK and internationally”.
As part of this project, the mechanisms through which these incumbent platforms currently connect with one another – interfaces – will require improvement work or replacement.

“Existing legacy services and integration points must be treated, either transitioned or replaced, to sustain external business interactions and access to external data,” the department said.
This work will be performed in conjunction with Glue Reply, an integration and consultancy specialist which, according to its most recently available annual report, turns over in excess of £40m per year and employs 240 people.
The central-London headquartered firm has won a two-year contract – which comes into effect on Tuesday – worth £3m.
The company will be “required to complete the low-level design, build and system test of [about] 20 interfaces to deliver outcomes related to the technical transition of interfaces on the legacy systems to the new system”, the Home Office said.
The deal was tendered via the Digital Marketplace. Glue Reply beat off bids from 12 other companies.
