Procurement agency seeks suppliers for quality assurance vehicle

Crown Commercial Service is seeking suppliers for a four-year dynamic purchasing system agreement covering quality assurance and testing for public sector IT systems
The procurement vehicle is now open and inviting providers to apply for accreditation. Unlike traditional static frameworks – where all featured companies are chosen upfront – a DPS model allows for new suppliers and services to be added over the lifespan of the contract.
The deal dubbed QAT2, “will provide central government and wider public sector departments the opportunity to procure quality assurance and testing services from a range of suppliers”, according to the contract notice.

The deal is designed to address the public sector’s need for QA testing for large-scale or important IT systems that are believed to be ready for public launch.
It will allow users to filter suppliers based on service type and scalability, location, and security clearance.
The contract, the worth of which is estimated at £166m, replaces an existing framework that was introduced in 2017. At the conclusion of its initial two-year term in March 2019, it was extended for a further 12 months.
The outgoing deal features 39 suppliers across a total of eight lots, respectively covering: general QA and testing; automation, agile, and DevOps; load and performance testing; functional testing; infrastructure testing; operational acceptance testing and disaster recovery; QA and testing management; and strategic QA consultancy.
