Authority issues opportunity notice outlining its intent to explore possibilities of automation

Dacorum Borough Council is to run a pilot scheme for the use of robotic process automation.
The Hertfordshire local authority has wishes to trial the use of automation technology across two operational processes. It is seeking the appoint an external supplier to work with council officials on two proof-of-concept exercises.

These programmes of work will involve the identification of a suitable process, a review of existing arrangements, and an initial deployment of RPA. The two pieces of work form part of a “council-wide change programme”, Dacorum said.
The council wishes to appoint a single firm to deliver both projects and is inviting bids until 6 September, with the intention of commencing work on 30 September. A budget of between £100,000 and £180,000 has been set aside for the project, which is scheduled to conclude on 31 December.
“Dacorum Borough Council requires support from a trusted and highly skilled partner, in the identification, design and delivery of a proof of concept,” the authority said. “This fixed price engagement is comprised of two defined work packages that need to be delivered, and priced independently and as a complete package. It is the intention to award all work to one supplier.”
