The Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) NHS Trust is to install an online system allowing patients to book clinic appointments.
The trust has issued a contract notice seeking a supplier to provide such a system over the course of a 42-month contract worth an estimated £700,000.
The trust said that implementing a “patient-led” system will improve accessibility and also bring financial benefits.

“The overarching aim of this solution is to deliver an accessible and cost-effective service, which enables people to have choice and flexibility in the way they manage the booking of their own clinic-based appointments,” it said. “It also aims to make better use of administrative resources and increase clinic utilisation rates through a reduction in DNA (do not attends) and cancellations.”
Bids for the project are open until 6 September, ahead of a scheduled contract start date of 13 November.
CLCH works across Hertfordshire and 11 boroughs in west and central London. The trust provides a range of care and support services – both at clinics and in patients’ homes – to about two million citizens.
