The digital and change chief will, alongside the executive director of corporate development, be responsible for leading a drive to “transform and redefine public services for residents in Dorset”.
“Benefits will be realised through greater coordination strategically and operationally across the areas of health and care, infrastructure, housing and education,” the council said.
Major responsibilities will include leading change programmes covering both Dorset’s internal technology estate, and its citizen services. The successful applicant will also be tasked with “exploiting emerging technologies and innovation to improve organisational efficiency, effectiveness and agility”.
“As we take the first revolutionary steps towards the transformation of Dorset Council, expert leadership will be absolutely critical,” the authority said. “You will bring a proven track record as a successful senior operational leader. You’ll be adept at promoting and executing the delivery of a strong digital agenda and encouraging the use of new technologies, as well as being accustomed to working corporately to support wider large-scale transformation and efficiencies across the council.”
Applications for the position are open until midnight on 28 June.
