CCS issues contract notice for online system

The government is seeking a supplier to deliver employee benefits across the public sector through an online system.
Crown Commercial Service has published a contract notice seeking a commercial partner to provide a range of benefits and an online platform through which public-sector employees can access them. The chosen provider will also be expected to demonstrate its ability to adequately protect the personal data of employees – with security measures subject to assessment by information-risk professionals from CCS.

Benefits that must be offered via the platform are: a childcare voucher programme; a cycle-to-work scheme; a programme offering “reward and recognition”; a charity-giving service; a discounts scheme, including savings on smartphones and other technology products; discounted gym memberships; a financial wellbeing service; and a green car programme.
Once it launches, the new platform “will be the recommended vehicle for all employee benefits required by UK central government departments – including those with locations overseas – and the wider public sector”, according to CCS.
Bids for the project are open until 19 June, ahead of a scheduled contract start date of 14 August. Over its four-year lifespan, the deal is expected to be worth £380m to the winning bidder.
