The Government Digital Service (GDS) is seeking a digital delivery advisor to help the UK deal with its European Union exit.

The advisor, who will be working with the Cabinet Office, which is where GDS is a business unit, will also be tasked with dealing with other government departments who are engaging on EU exit projects of their own.

In a job advert, the government said that the advisor would help to shape and deliver change which will underpin the government’s digital transformation during its exit from the EU.

The postholder will contribute to prioritising and monitoring digital functional support for EU exit programmes. They will have to liaise with GDS delivery teams such as Government-as-a-Platform (GaaP), as well as working closely with the Cabinet Office, HM Treasury, and departments including DExEU, BEIS, Defra, Home Office and DHSC.

“In particular, your work will contribute to a central view of EU Exit by monitoring and reporting on the progress across the risk profiles of your programmes and projects to influence and support their approach to leaving the EU,” it adds.

The selected candidate could earn up to £60,635 depending on experience. The two-year, full-time position will be based in GDS headquarters in east London (pictured above). The deadline for applications is 2 December.

Last year, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) was looking for a team of eight senior technology advisors to help it grapple with the consequences of leaving the EU. It offered salaries of between £48,169 and £56,243 for the roles.
