The BBC has asked the market to provide information and guidance ahead of a potential overhaul of its communications infrastructure.
The broadcaster has published a request for information in regards to a planned “replacement of the Delec communication infrastructure” that is installed at its locations in Salford and central London. The BBC “is also considering replacement of its legacy comms systems across 15 English region sites and Elstree election hub”, the RFI said.
The broadcaster said the process “is an information-gathering exercise only”.
“[The] RFI will be used by the BBC to build an understanding regarding the current and future comms offerings,” it added.
Responses are open until 13 July, after which there are currently no firm plans to launch a tender or award a contract.
