Mansfield District Council is looking for a commercial partner to help the authority create a digital-transformation strategy to be rolled out over the coming months and years.

The council has issued a £50,000 contract notice seeking a specialist firm to assist in the creation of a strategy and agenda for its digital-transformation ambitions. Potential suppliers have until 12 March to bid, with a contract scheduled to go live on 26 March and last for three months thereafter.

The authority said: “Mansfield District Council is seeking to appoint a partner to help define its digital-transformation journey and develop a digital-transformation programme of work. This work will shape the delivery of services aligned to the council’s transformation plan, and the achievement of its transformation vision and goals.”

Late last year Mansfield lifted the lid on “one of the first major developments emerging from the council’s digital transformation strategy”, with the announcement of a portal, to be launched this spring, that aims to allow citizens to access a range of services and information with a single login.

Councillor Stewart Rickersey, portfolio holder for corporate services said: “The portal will bring Mansfield District Council into the 21st century and will give customers real-time, direct interaction with essential front-line services.”

Last week the council also revealed that the ground floor of its Mansfield Civic Centre headquarters is to be converted into a “shared digital hub for self-service and reception”. The self-service points being installed will be used by both the local authority and the Department for Work and Pensions, which has an assessment centre in the building.
