Companies House is offering up to £125,000 for a technology leader to “deliver digital transformation at pace”.

The registrar of UK businesses is advertising a post as director of digital. The role comes with a remit to “deliver the next generation of high-performing digital services for our customers and staff”. This will involve working with the Government Digital Service, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and the wider civil service, Companies House said.

The incoming digital chief will also be tasked with making sure that the organisation “unlocks the opportunities that digital data brings”. The job will also entail the creation and deployment of a “cybersecurity and data security strategy”.

During the assessment process, applicants will be judged in seven competency areas: seeing the bigger picture; changing and improving; leading and communicating; collaborating and partnering; achieving commercial outcomes; managing a quality service; and delivering at pace.

The role will be based at Companies House headquarters in Cardiff, where the new digital head honcho will form part of the organisation’s executive leadership team.

Following the creation of a shortlist, candidates “will be required to undertake an engagement activity” during the week commencing 15 January. The following week final interviews will take place in the Welsh capital.
