Walsall schools to deploy electronic pupil education plan

West Midlands town looks to acquire £70,000 software platform for teachers to track children’s progress

Walsall Council is to implement an electronic system to allow teachers to create and monitor education plans for each pupil.

The council has set aside £70,000 to spend on a software-based platform “which allows professionals to access a system to track the progress of children”. The West Midlands town is seeking a single supplier to fulfil a two-year contract to deploy the technology and provide ongoing support. The council will have the option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.

The council will use an open procurement process, with the evaluation of bids weighted 70% towards quality and 30% towards price. Potential suppliers have until 12 November to submit their bids, with the contract set to go live on New Year’s Day 2018.
