North Hertfordsire adopts mobile working solution

North Hertfordshire District Council has adopted a cloud-based solution to enable a number of departments automate their processes.

The authority has appointed supplier Tascomi to provide the solution, which will allow staff to access council systems from any location.

The “public protection” system will be adopted by the council’s trading standards, environmental health, licensing, private sector housing and housing grants departments.

Andy Godman, head of housing and public protection at North Hertfordshire, said: “The integrated off-line capability means that officers will be able to record inspection outcomes directly into the system even when they do not have access to the internet.

“The customer facing portal allowing citizens and business to submit and track licence applications on-line is going to enable us to digitally transform our service.”

He said that the system would improve service deliver and enhance council productivity, while reducing administration costs.

In July, the council appointed Tascomi to provide a cloud-based building control solution across seven districts in Hertfordshire.
