A South West council has launched a framework tender for an adult social care case management system (CMS) worth up to £4.7 million.
Both Dorset County Council and Bournemouth Borough Council will be able to make use of the five-year framework, as partners in the Better Together Partnership formed to deliver health and social care services along with the NHS.
The tender said: “The framework agreement will have one supplier, with immediate call-off by the Borough of Poole.
“There is no commitment from either Dorset County Council or Bournemouth Borough Council to procure an Adult CMS using the framework agreement – they may or may not (entirely at their individual discretion) utilise the Framework Agreement at a future unspecified date during its term.”
It will also deliver mobile access to the CMS and finance management capabilities.
In addition, the supplier will be required to provide staff to assist the project team with system design and configuration, system and integration testing, user testing, staff training, and system implementation.
Once the system is up and running, the supplier will be required to provide ongoing support complying with IT Infrastructure Library services management standards.
The initial contract is for a minimum term of five years, with annual reviews which could extend it to ten years.
Over ten years, Poole is expected to spend up to £1.2 million, Bournemouth up to £1.6 million and Dorset up to £1.9 million.
Bidders are expected to have experience of supplying, implementing and supporting an adult social care CMS.
