In the post-Budget 'age of austerity', ICT in the public sector has perhaps never been more on the front line. ICT professionals are faced with every greater challenges and expectations against a backdrop of cutbacks and tightened budgets. The danger facing the UK economy is the threat that ICT investment faces being cut in pursuit of short term budget reductions that come at the cost of long term societal gains.

To that end, we've launched the ICT for Recovery campaign which will focus entirely on good practice, profiles of ICT professionals, shared experiences, success stories and the transformational capabilities of ICT in the public sector.

We need your involvement and your backing. We want to tap into your collective experience and expertise to promote ICT best practice in the public sector and make its potential known in the highest circles. We want to hear from you about the success stories, the little victories that add up to the bigger triumphs.

Most of all we want to send a powerful message to budget holders: effective public sector ICT is an investment in the future of the UK.
