NHS signs £80m deal to support ‘digital prevention services’

The health service has picked frequent tech partner Aire Logic to deliver a range of online tools and digital patient communications related to the likes of vaccines and screening initiatives

NHS England has signed a near-£80m two-year deal for a specialist supplier to support its range of online services dedicated to preventative healthcare.

The contract with Leeds-based consultancy Aire Logic, which comes into effect today, represents the appointment of a national “digital delivery partner… to support objectives within the Digital Prevention Services portfolio,” according to a freshly published commercial notice. The services in question include online tools and digital communications related to the provision of immunisations, screening and other offerings designed to prevent health issues.

“The services to be provided by a prime supplier will enable the national invite service for seasonal vaccinations and relevant catch-up campaigns, to ensure eligible individuals are invited, and development of the Book an Appointment, Find a Vaccination Service, Manage my Vaccination Appointment and National Invitation capabilities,” the notice adds.

The agreement runs until the end of July 2027 and is valued at about £78.4m.

Aire Logic already delivers a £65m NHS engagement related specifically to providing digital support for the Covid-19 vaccinations programme. This deal was first implemented in summer 2022 and, following an extension, now runs until May 2026.

The tech supplier also holds a range of other public-sector contracts, principally in the NHS and local-government sectors. Major deals include arrangements worth £19m and £23m and each dedicated to support upgrades to the NHS digital Spine platform, and an £8m agreement to provide the health service with identity and access management services.
