National body signs deal for system that allows local health-service entities to manage rollout

NHS England has signed a multimillion-pound contract for the delivery of a software platform to support the ongoing rollout of Covid vaccinations.
Recently published procurement documents reveal that the national body signed a one-year contract with London-based firm AccuRx on 16 June. The contract, valued at £4.7m, represents an extension on an existing six-month engagement with the software company, which expired two days prior to the new contract coming into effect.
The deal will see AccuRx continue to provide the technology to underpin a nationwide service that allows local health-service bodies to manage the booking and delivery of coronavirus jabs.

“This… contract provides for a 12-month term for the provision of digital software to allow locally managed, combined call [and] recall booking solutions, that supports primary care networks, GP practices and other vaccination providers to invite and enable NHS citizens to book Covid vaccination appointments,” the contract-award notice said.
Founded in 2016, AccuRx specialises in communications software platforms for the healthcare sector.
“Through the Covid-19 pandemic, our software enabled video consultations and healthcare surveys for remote monitoring of patients with symptoms,” the company’s website said. “We also built a vaccine booking system in just four weeks that was used to manage almost 30 million life-saving vaccinations.”
