Procurement agency recruiting for CDIO

The Crown Commercial Service is offering a salary of up to £150,000 for a chief digital and information officer to spearhead a “large-scale programme of digital transformation” across the procurement agency.
The postholder will assume responsibility for digital, data and technology strategy across CCS, as well as leading delivery teams and overseeing investment in IT. The CDIO will also helm a programme of work designed to “implement transformational change which will enable CCS to deliver innovative products and services”.
The goal of this initiative will be to “create and support an environment of digital innovation and champion the use of best practice project management standards and processes for the consistent ‘whole system’ delivery of projects”.

“The CDIO is a new role that will play a critical part in CCS’s growth by leading our large-scale programme of digital transformation, delivering and embedding new customer-facing digital and data services,” CCS said. “It will modernise and innovate around important aspects of our work – with a scalable and measurable digital solution, which we can re-use across multiple categories – so our customers can access the very best deals for the goods and services they need, simply and consistently. This will enable us to further improve public sector procurement of common goods and services by putting the customer at the heart of what we do.”
The successful candidate will form part of the CCS’s senior-leadership team, and will report directly into chief executive Simon Tse.
Applications for the position, which can be based in one of Birmingham, Liverpool or London, are open until 15 December. The stated salary is £149,500.
