Ministry picks Automation Logic for deal related to ‘modernisation platform’

The Ministry of Justice has picked London-based tech firm Automation Logic to deliver a £5m-plus engagement to support the department’s cloud migration.
Newly published procurement information reveals that the MoJ and the 10-year-old company entered into a two-year contract on 1 August. The deal’s value is pegged at £5.6m
Automation Logic will be tasked with providing the ministry with a “modernisation platform” and “infrastructure support” in relation to its cloud-migration programme.

The department announced two years ago that, by moving much of its infrastructure to a public-cloud environment, it hoped to trim £30m from the £75m it spent each year on hosting.
The MoJ also believed that moving to cloud would make it “better able to manage, change, improve, and secure our systems and the data they hold, as well as making it easier to make them more resilient to failure”.
London-based Automation Logic specialises in cloud, automation, and DevOps services. In the last few years it has won a number of multimillion-pound central government contracts, including a £3m two-year deal signed with the Department for Work and Pensions in 2018.
It also recently signed two short-term deals, respectively worth £1.5m and £2m, with Homes England and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
