Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire seeking to appoint tech resellers to four-year deal

Two police forces in the East Midlands region are seeking to appoint IT suppliers to a £350m framework.
The East Midlands Strategic Commercial Unit (EMSCU) is a joint venture that unites the commercial and procurement teams of the Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire police forces. The buying organisation has issued a contract notice outlining its intent to set up a framework for “ICT VARs” – or value-added resellers.
VARs typically offer corporate and public sector customers IT services and technology products from a variety of manufacturer partners.

The forces are seeking to appoint one or more such suppliers to provide “a wide range of standard IT products”.
This is likely to include end-user devices and operating systems, as well as peripherals and “utility software”. The forces will also require networking infrastructure products and hosted offerings including infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service. Suppliers will also be expected to offer “flexible logistics and delivery options”.
Bids for a spot on the framework are open until 13 August, with a contract scheduled to commence around the end of next month. The deal will last for four years and will be worth an estimated £350m to winning bidders.
