BEIS on the hunt for digital and data director duo

Department advertises for two senior roles each paying about £85,000

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is seeking a new deputy director of technology services and a new deputy director of data and digital.

Both full-time positions come with salaries of circa £85,000 and are based in London.

BEIS recently moved to a cloud model, which it claims has given it flexibility and bandwidth “to be brave in the services [it] offers” staff.

To continue the growth of the organisation, it wants to hire senior-level employees to build, lead and drive its digital and data offerings to colleagues and businesses.

The key responsibilities of the technology services role include architecture and governance, service operations, service transition, infrastructure and service maintenance, and leadership and people management. The chosen candidate have to work with the deputy director of digital and data to ensure new and modified services meet the expectations of the business and are handed over effectively from the project phase to live operations. They will also have to work with the chief digital and information officer (CDIO) and other leaders within the digital, data and technology function on a regular basis.

Applicants must have experience of successfully leading and developing digital and technology functions, with significant experience and a track record of delivering digital and data-led services to business and consumers in complex environments.
