Role comes with remit to spearhead strategic vision and oversee rollout of Government Transformation Strategy
The Government Digital Service is recruiting for a head of strategy to help set the organisation’s strategic direction of travel.
The role also comes with the remit of “overseeing implementation of the Government Transformation Strategy”, and managing relationships with key stakeholders. This will involve quarterly briefings to the Civil Service Board to provide updates on the progress of the strategy.

The successful candidate will also lead GDS’s dedicated strategy team, which is tasked with “developing GDS’s strategic vision and approach”. The head of strategy will report into GDS’s deputy director of strategy and economic team.
“This is a high-profile area of work,” GDS said. “We are looking for a creative individual who can think on their feet, solve problems and build collaborative relationships across the organisation and across Whitehall.”
Applications are open until 29 April, with interviews scheduled to take place from 7 May. The post, which will be based at GDS headquarters in east London, comes with an annual salary of between £57,982 and £64,341
