Organisation offering £85,000 for head of digital services post

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency is seeking an experienced technology professional to “lead DVSA into an increasingly digital future”.

The organisation is offering a salary of £85,000 in its search for a head of digital services. The role, which will be based in Nottingham, will require the successful candidate to set the “strategic goals of the digital department”.

The post also comes with a remit to create and roll out digital services, with a focus on “ensuring that performance data and user research drives the delivery and improvement of individual services, and increases the quality of management information throughout the organisation”.

The digital services head will also be expected to serve as the primary conduit for DVSA’s interactions with GDS. They will also be asked to “drive the successful delivery of a portfolio of large-scale… digital projects”, each of which will typically come with a budget in excess of £50m, and will involve about 30 million transactions a year, worth a total of more than £1bn.

The agency is looking for someone with “strong commercial experience [and] demonstrable experience of delivering at-pace digital solutions to a wide internal and external customer base, ensuring all projects and programmes are financially sustainable and deliver clear customer benefits”.

The ideal candidate will also have experience of “innovative approaches to procuring services”, and of overseeing engagements with as many as 100 suppliers or more.

“The head of digital services will be a leader with the operating experience, management skills, strategic mindset and vision to lead DVSA into an increasingly digital future,” the agency said.

Candidates have until 10 December to apply.
