Department invests in company search tool on behalf of Pensions Regulator

The Department for Work and Pensions has spent almost £50,000 on “financial accounting made easy” (FAME) software.

The department has awarded a two-year licensing contract to software and data company Bureau van Dijk. The firm will be supplying its FAME product, which aims to help users “navigate company information quickly and easily”. 

It can be used to search for information on companies across the UK and Ireland, including access to accounts and other filings, details of registered directors and managers, corporate structures, and “M&A activity and rumours”.

The DWP has spent £46,000 on the product. Its contract with Bureau van Dijk began on 31 October and lasts for 24 months.

The address listed on the contract award notice is that of The Pensions Regulator, an executive non-departmental body sponsored by the DWP.
