Authority to extend Enterprise Agreement for software licences by three years

Cambridgeshire County Council has picked a supplier for a multimillion-pound three-year Microsoft licensing programme.

The authority was seeking a delivery partner for an extension of its Enterprise Agreement deal with the software giant. IT reseller Softcat has been chosen as the sole supplier for the contract, which comes into effect on the last day of this month.

The council’s engagement with the company will last three years, and the value of the contract is estimated at £2.1m.

Microsoft’s Enterprise Agreement deals are designed to provide optimum value for organisations with a large IT estate encompassing hundreds of end-user devices. They are available to public sector bodies requiring at least 250 licences, or commercial organisations with a minimum of 500 individual users or devices.
