GDS puts up £100k-a-head bounty for duo of deputy directors

Organisation wants senior execs for delivery and product

The advertised posts will form two thirds of the senior leadership team of GDS’s Delivery and Support Group

The Government Digital Service is recruiting for two deputy director posts that each come with an estimated salary of £100,000.

GDS is advertising for deputy directors in two areas: portfolio delivery; and product and proposition. Both posts will be housed in the organisation’s Delivery and Support group, and the two successful candidates will each report to that unit’s director. The two roles both come with a fixed-term, two-year contract, and will be based in GDS’s Whitechapel headquarters.

The deputy director for portfolio delivery “will be responsible for ensuring that the portfolio of programmes and products within the Delivery and Support Group of GDS delivers outcomes aligned to GDS’ objectives and priorities, to agreed quality, cost, and timescale”, GDS said.

The product and proposition role, meanwhile, comes with a remit to “build product capability and drive the roadmap for the GDS portfolio”.

The Delivery and Support group is responsible for the maintaining a range of GDS’s most high-profile services, including GOV.UK, Verify, and Government as a Platform.

The duo of roles will form two thirds of the unit’s second tier of senior leadership, working alongside a deputy director of technical operations.
