Crown Commercial service seeks £100k leader to deliver ‘large-scale digital transformation’

Role will involve revamp of data-collection processes and management of supplier performance

The Crown Commercial Service is offering more than £100,000 for a senior technology professional to head up a “large-scale programme of digital transformation”.

The government procurement body has a vacant position for a chief digital and technology officer (CDTO). The role comes with an annual pay packet of up to £117,800.

The successful candidate will head up teams in London, Liverpool, Newport, and Norwich as they deliver “a digital transformation programme in a complex operational environment”, CCS said. The CDTO will also be tasked with managing relationships with a variety of suppliers, and ensuring they maintain adequate levels of performance.

The tech and digital chief will also need to “develop technology and processes that support service delivery”, as well as overhauling the organisation’s “approach to the collection, secure storage, and usage of data”.

CCS said: “The CDTO will play a critical role in helping us to meet our ambitions, leading on the development and delivery of our digital strategy to support our ongoing transformation and planned growth. CCS has evolved over the last decade to become a successful organisation with strong leadership and clear strategic direction, but there is more yet to do.

It added: “Following significant investment and a period of organisational change, we are ready to embark on a crucial stage of our transformation. Digital technology is central to our mission.”
