London Borough of Hackney has awarded a £600,000 contract to provide it with a mobile working solution.
Mobile solutions supplier 1st Touch will provide an off the shelf solution, which will initially be used by the direct labour organisation used by the authority’s housing organisation Hackney Homes.
The solution will be rolled out to waste services and then other council departments.
A statement from the council said that 1st Touch will “provide an off the shelf solution that can be further developed to meet the Council’s requirement and will undertake implementation of the solution as well as provide system support and maintenance”.

Mobile hardware devices such as tablets and phones are outside the scope of this contract.
The initial term of the contract is for five years with the option to extend for up to a further five years in 12 months increments.
Meanwhile, Transport for London has launched a tender for an information management and modelling solution, worth up to £8.24m.
A key part of this tender is to provide a common data environment and the ability to link with TfL’s existing asset management systems.
The solution will initially be implemented for the surface transport division within TfL, but will need to be scalable for the rest of the organisation.
