A series of purchases by Transport for London worth almost £1m helped boost GCloud sales by more than 200% in March.
Figures released by the Government Digital Services showed total sales in the local government category leaping to £3.86m during the month.
That compares to the £1.27m to which sales slumped in February – with TfL accounting for £956,000 of the total. It made 70 purchases for specialist cloud services from supplier BAE Systems Applied Intelligence.

Local government organisations – including councils, housing associations and other local public bodies, made 374 purchases during the month – up from the 162 made during February.
Transport for London also made the largest purchase in the local government category in March, spending £132,000 on specialist cloud services from accountancy firm Deloitte.
Large suppliers made 123 purchases totalling £1.56m meaning small and medium enterprises made up 60% of sales by value and 67% of purchases by volume in March.
Total GCloud sales across all government organisations reached £69.6m during the month.
