Norfolk County Council looks for new head of IT

Norfolk County Council is offering up to £115,000 for a head of IT.

According to the East Anglian local authority, the successful applicant will support the delivery of its Re-Imagining Norfolk strategy, which is looking at trying to deliver more services to the public with less money.

“The head of IT & IM will develop opportunities for IT to deliver services that generate operational improvement, as well as directly enable improved customer experience and services,” according to a job posting in the Sunday Times.

Anne Gibson, executive director of Resources at Norfolk, said that the council had “begun a substantive journey of change and improvement in its leverage of ICT and IM”.

She added that with the drive for ‘digital by default’ to be at the heart of all government services, and service evolution, “never has the role of IT as an enabling business partner been more important for us.”
