Suppliers are now able to remove services from the G-Cloud they no longer provide, following the introduction of improvements.
The Government Digital Service has implemented the change as one of a series it plans to roll out.
Removing services mean that they will no longer appear in search results, and individual service pages will inform users that the service is no longer available.
A Digital Marketplace blog posting reassured public sector bodies that suppliers will be held to existing commitments.
It said: “If a buyer enters into a call-off contract for a service that a supplier then removes, the contract is still valid.
“The URL of the service will remain public but we’ll add a banner on the page stating the date when the supplier made the service unavailable.”
Other planned updates to the G-Cloud include the ability to publish PDF updates more quickly, allowing suppliers to update their own service descriptions, adding more possible answers to security questions, and updating security assertions.
In December, the government reported cumulative G-Cloud sales of £903,850,836 since the framework’s inception.
However, sales data for December, which were due to be published at the end of January, have still not appeared on the Digital Marketplace site.
