Digital Services 2 places provisionally awarded

Suppliers applying for the delayed Digital Services 2 framework have finally been told whether they are likely to have been successful.

The Digital Marketplace team at the Cabinet Office announced yesterday that it has sent “intention to award” letters to all those chosen for the framework.

A 10 day “standstill” period will finish at midnight next Friday, after which companies will be formally added to the framework.

A statement from officials said: “During this time we will be working hard to get suppliers added to the Digital Marketplace and a go-live date will be confirmed following the end of the standstill period.”

The tender for the second iteration released the tender for Digital Services 2 in December. This was later than expected because the CCS decided to include it in the scope of work on the new Digital Marketplace, which finally replaced the CloudStore platform in October.

Since then, the form of the framework has faced severe criticism from suppliers, and last month it was announced that a completely fresh approach will be taken to the third iteration, due later this year.

There are currently 175 suppliers listed on the framework, which aims to help the public sector buy, design, build and deliver digital services using an agile approach.
