The government is to consult on changes aimed assuring public sector customers that cyber security suppliers appointed through the Digital Marketplace framework meet newly revised national certification standards.
In a note released yesterday, the Crown Commercial Service said it was working on the project with CESG, the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance.
The move has been made after CESG replaced its Listed Adviser scheme with the new Certified Cyber Security Consultancy (CCSC) scheme in June.

CCS said: “Through these new solutions it is intended that customers will be able to evaluate, select and award to CESG certified cyber security service providers using the Digital Marketplace.”
The new “procurement solutions would cover certified cyber security services and specialist certified cyber security contingent labour from CESG certified professionals.
The new standard for CCSC has been set at a deliberately high level, according to CESG.
All applications to join CCSG will undergo two assessments – against the Professional Cyber Services Framework, and the Certified Cyber Security Consultancy Standard
Market engagement events, including a webinar and interactive workshops, are being arranged for September onwards to enable customers and suppliers to find out more about the planned Digital Marketplace solutions and help shape the routes to market.
The planned date for tender is October 2015 with availability for customers to use the solutions from January or February next year.
