Office for Veterans’ Affairs seeks leader for ‘innovative digital and data work’

The Cabinet Office unit dedicated to better supporting the UK’s two million former military personnel is advertising for a leader to improve digital services and maximise the availability of data

Government’s Office for Veterans’ Affairs is recruiting for a senior technologist to “lead and grow the OVA’s innovative digital and data work”.

The OVA, which is based in the Cabinet Office, is advertising a vacant position as head of digital and data – a role which comes with a salary of between £64,700 and £75,000. The successful candidate will be asked to “establish the digital and data vision as part of a wider veteran strategy”.

This vision will then inform ongoing work to use digital services to support former military personnel, as well as efforts to “maximise the data available on veterans to enable evidence-based decision making”.

This will involve “forming a backlog of problems to explore across the landscape of services for veterans”, and then “steering GOV.UK activity for veterans, as well as taking a user-centred view of iterative or transformational changes to the ecosystem of veteran services and data sources across government departments and the charity sector”.
