System will bring together existing databases across three areas

Three local authorities in West Yorkshire are looking to bring together their urban traffic management and control (UTMC) platforms into a single cloud-based system.
Three of the region’s five local-council areas – Bradford, Leeds, and Kirklees – have published a contract notice seeking a supplier that could provide a unified database to replace a total of four existing systems. The councils have set aside a budget of up to £3m and are looking to appoint the winning bidder to a four-year contract, due to commence in September.

The authorities are seeking “the procurement and delivered implementation of a regional cloud based UTMC common database provisioning the four existing UTC centres of West Yorkshire with a cooperative and connected end product”.
Suppliers of the existing platforms include digital services company Idox and engineering firm Mott MacDonald.
Companies interested in bidding for the contract to replace them have until 5 August to do so.
