Candidates could stand to earn £82,547 for Westminster role

UK Export Finance is looking for a Head of IT Operations in a role which could pay up to £82,547 for the right candidate. 

UKEF is a government department that acts as a credit agency providing backing for UK firms that wish to sell goods and services into overseas markets.

The department is looking for someone who has substantial experience as an IT operations manager, as well as the skills to plan, deliver and manage the needs of an organisation and its stakeholders. In a job advert, the department said that communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to influence others, are key attributes in achieving success in this role. 

The post holder will head the service delivery function which is responsible for all the day-to-day IT service operations that are provided across the department. They will have to combine customer service skills with the effective planning and delivery of service improvement projects. In addition they will need to know all about contract management as well as having strong technical skills. 

They will be the lead contract manager for several outsourced contracts which are worth over £1.2m per annum, and which are critical to the delivery of UKEF’s IT service. The successful candidate will have to ensure UKEF has a strategic IT roadmap, and that staff have high quality equipment to work on, with reliable and secure networks and systems. 

The head of IT operations will also be responsible for leading the effective management of the service delivery team, to continually develop the capability and capacity of the team in line with the Digital, Data and Technology Capability Framework led by the Government Digital Service (GDS). 

The role is based in Westminster with a salary of between £62,832 and £82,547. The closing date for applications is 15 September 2019
