Three-year contract up for grabs

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a partner to provide support to the battlefield information system application (BISA) used by the Royal Engineers.
The department has issued a contract notice for a three-year deal worth up to £4.5m. The MoD is seeking a supplier to provide support to BISA, a technology platform provided by defence contractor General Dynamics. The support will cover three areas: project management; quality assurance; and software management.
The contract will cover the installation and maintenance of a “scalable electronic secure working environment”, including storage for sensitive data, and ongoing user support.

BISA is used by the Royal Engineers “to plan and execute mobility, counter-mobility and survivability missions in support of operations in the land environment”. The platform allows “the rapid acquisition, processing and distribution of information” by military personnel on the ground.
Bids for the project are open until 19 March, with a contract due to be awarded a month thereafter. The deal will run until the end of March 2022.
The Royal Engineers are an Army combat support corps made up of soldiers, tradespeople, and engineers.
