Bids open for single-supplier framework

Five police forces across south-west England are to team up to create a £50m system for storing and managing records.

The platform will cover records of crimes and case management, custody information, intelligence, and investigation data. The forces – Devon and Cornwall, Avon and Somerset, Gloucester, Wiltshire, and Dorset – are looking to create a single-supplier framework through which each organisation can award call off contracts for “the supply, implementation, and support of an integrated records management system”.

The new system will allow the forces to "manage information across key policing functions", the contract notice said.

Bids for the framework are open until 20 March, with a four-year deal – worth an estimated £50m – scheduled to come into effect on 26 April. The procurement process is being led by Devon and Cornwall Police.
