Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust is planning to invest £1m in a “digital mental health service”.

The trust has issued a contract notice seeking to appoint a supplier to a five-year agreement to deliver digital options for mental health treatments.

“Whilst the focus is upon the provision of digital mental health services to children and young people, this may also include an element of digital mental health services to adults and families,” the trust said.

The notice indicated that the chosen supplier will be expected to build on work that has already taken place in the area of digital mental health treatment, while also adding new tools and platforms.

“The landscape for delivery of these services has a backdrop of existing provision, aspirations for future delivery, central government’s mandates as well as local on-the-ground requirements,” it said. “NICE guidelines are predominantly geared towards a tiered approach to service provision.”

Bids for the contract are open until 9 August, with a contract scheduled to go live on 1 October. The deal will last for five years and is expected to be worth £1m to the successful bidder.

The trust employs more than 3,500 staff, serving a population of about a million people across the Coventry, Warwickshire, and Solihull. It operates five hospitals and about 100 other locations from which it delivers community and mental-health services.

The trust offers talking therapies and other treatments for conditions including depression, anxiety, phobias, and compulsive disorders, as well as specialist mental health services for people with learning disabilities.
