London borough seeks new tech leader

The London Borough of Hounslow is seeking a seeking a director of digital and ICT to spearhead “a new chapter of transformation for the council”.
The role, which comes with a salary of up to £110,000 a year, will be based at a newly opened civic centre. The chosen applicant will be tasked with leading “the next evolution of digital services” for the borough’s citizens, as well as councillors and staff.
The authority said it already has a “four-star rated transactional website” run on customer experience management technology from software firm Jadu.
“We are in embarking on a new chapter of transformation; digital and ICT is at the heart of this change,” the borough said. “You will shape, scope and lead projects and programmes enabling the place, our council, our residents and our staff to be as effective as possible in their roles, whatever their function, wherever they are working. Through smart working, improved systems and a clear digital ambition you will have a unique opportunity to drive greater value to our residents.”
Hounslow is seeking to hire someone with “a strong technical background”.
“Customer-focused and high energy, you will bring gravitas gained through consistent delivery against demanding ICT and digital performance requirements,” it added. “Throughout your career you will have generated commercial and operational improvement from ICT, leading to improved outcomes for front-line services. Central to your offer will be an excellent grasp of customer service best practice and up to date knowledge of digital solutions to support such outcomes. You will be adept at building internal and external relationships, driving strategic and commercial value through ICT and digital solutions.”
